Ep. 8: Good Carbs? Bad Carbs?
Carbs improve the serotonin in our brain, they make us happy, and they also make us want to eat more carbs. Some carbs are simple sugars and other carbs are complex sugars. They are important for energy and our bodies’ preferred energy source. Simple carbs enter the body too fast which raises the blood sugars too fast and increases inflammation. They can also lead to weight gain. Good carbs enter the body slowly. It isn’t the carbohydrate that is bad, but when they are separated out from the plant, they enter the body so much quicker.
